I met Danielle a couple of years ago when she booked a family session with me. I’ve done at least two photo sessions each year with her since then and I have to say she is one of the sweetest people I know. This March, Danielle was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s young, healthy, and loves the Lord. Why this happened to her I’ll never know…it just blows my mind. Through it all, Danielle has had such an amazing support system of family and friends. And she is undoubtedly going to kick cancer’s behind because her faith in Jesus is phenomenal. Click here to read more about her take on this journey, but holy cow…her strength is otherworldly.
Danielle had a double mastectomy at the beginning of April. She started chemo at the beginning of May. She decided that instead of waiting for chemo to take her hair, she’d make a celebration out of shaving her head. Several of her family and friends joined her. I had the privilege of taking photos of the party. There were a few tears, a lot of laughs, and I lost count of the bald heads. Thanks so much Danielle, for letting me be a part of this, for trusting these memories to me, and for letting me share your story. And thanks for letting my little Ren tag along…he enjoyed the experience too. 🙂
I took before and afters of most everyone, and even jumped in for a photo with Danielle myself. Such a cool thing to be a part of. This is the way to fight!
