Baylor | Newborn

I just wanted to reassure you that here at Gina Dreher Photography, we are taking all precautions and following the state’s Stay-At-Home order. Baylor was such an easy, precious baby! She was a tiny thing to start, weighing in at around 6 and a half pounds. She had gorgeous skin and such cute little features. When she arrived, she was asleep and she just stayed asleep for the first 3/4 of the session. Her arms would just flop all over, she was just dead weight which is so perfect for posing! At the end, we tried to get her naked and she was not having it. After a couple of feedings, we got a few naked shots out of her before deciding to call it a day! I absolutely loved this session…it was one of my favorites of 2019!

Lucy is an amazing miracle! Her momma contacted me after she was already almost 2 weeks old…they hadn’t thought they would get to do newborn photos due to Lucy being in the NICU, but she surprised everyone by being able to come home earlier than planned. So we snuck her in for a session and she is just my favorite. Once I convinced her that a swaddle was a good thing, she fell into a deep sleep for most of our prop poses. Lucy even SMILED for the very first click of the shutter! She wasn’t a fan of being on her tummy so after trying unsuccessfully to pose her on her tummy, we decided she was just too uncomfortable and we finished up with some awake shots. Lucy is the youngest of 8 and is so very loved! I got to see her again this year for my Valentine’s Minis and it was so fun to see how much she’d grown.

My facebook memories told me that I posted a sneak peek from this session exactly ONE year ago today! Which means that yes, this baby has long-since turned one and her first birthday session was super cute. It was so fun capturing Lainey throughout her first year, and the sky we lucked out with during this session is hard to beat!

Do you see all this hair?! We were so excited when Arhan showed up for his session sporting that amazing head of hair. He and his parents and grandparents traveled 3 hours for his session, so at first Arhan was ready to be awake after a long car nap! Mom fed him and he seemed sleepy so we began posing but he quickly made it evident that he wanted to eat more! I wrapped him up more tightly and mom fed him again. After the second feeding, he was a perfect angel! He loved his wrapped poses, and made us work a little for the unwrapped ones at the end but we won! It was SO special to have his grandparents here from India for his session, and I’m so glad that they jumped in a few of the photos. Seeing how in love they are with their first grandbaby brought tears to my eyes! I wasn’t sure if they’d want to be posted here, so I just kept those few photos private.

Lincoln | 1 Year Old

I counted it up and while I knew I was getting farther behind with blogging, I didn’t realize HOW far. Guesses? I am 114 sessions and 13 weddings behind on blogging. AH! Breathe, breathe…

Here’s the cutest little cutiepie Lincoln! He and his family moved to Colorado part way through his first year bundle, but luckily his momma scheduled his 1 year session while they were back on a visit. Loved getting to know this family, and it was fun watching Lincoln smash that cake!

Jordyn | Newborn

Jordyn was a dream baby! She arrived asleep and never woke up. Her only hang up was that she wanted her hands balled into fists the whole time. But she was super floppy and fine with whatever! Big sister Jacey was amazing for just being newly 2 and she held her baby sister like a pro, doing everything we asked! Such a cute little family…love that I’ve been able to photograph both their babies!

Mason | Newborn

Mason was such a little sweetheart!! We were taking photos within 5 minutes of their arrival. For those of you unfamiliar with how these types of sessions work: usually they arrive, sometimes they eat for 10-15 minutes, then we spend another 15-30 minutes getting them to sleep, before we ever even begin posing. Once posing starts, it takes 5-10 minutes for babies to calm and settle in. But seriously…Mason was sleepy when he arrived and pretty much stayed asleep when we started posing, so I was able to start capturing his precious face right away. He was surprisingly strong…he held his head up a lot, and he refused to let us straighten his fingers most of the time. So curly fingers it was! It was also great meeting his mom and dad for the first time…we even discovered that his dad and I had lived in the same apartment complex in Manhattan, just a few years apart! Small world.
