Macy and Conner’s rainy wedding day back in April was one for the books! It literally rained the entire day without letting up at all. But these two were so awesome at rolling with the punches, and totally willing to expose their wedding attire to the elements. We started at the Ambassador in downtown Wichita for getting ready photos, and then went over to the church where they had their first look and some family photos. After their ceremony, we took the party bus to a nearby location with these gorgeous blooming pink trees and over to the Boathouse to take advantage of the covered white porch for photos. Then it was on to the reception where there was tons of good food, dessert, laughing, dancing, and fun for the rest of the night. Congrats to these lovebirds, and thank you for allowing Adam and I to capture your day! See the film Adam made of their big day, linked at the end.
How to even begin describing what an amazing night this was! Tonya and Chad were married on 7-7 and became a family of 7 that day. They are the sweetest, most considerate people and I knew their wedding day was going to be one for the books. It was a backyard affair, complete with a bounce house, black + white checkered dance floor, bar in a silo, and an awesome fireworks finale. They made vows to each other and to each other’s children, they broke out into a choreographed dance with all their kids after their first dance, and they even hired a street taco truck to feed the crowd. Every detail was so thought out and it was such a joy to see Tonya and Chad become one that day. Congrats to the newlyweds and thank you THANK YOU for choosing me to capture this beautiful night for you two!
It has taken me a bit to get this wedding blogged…as in, the wedding happened in April. Eek!
But seriously. Best day ever. This wedding was so beyond perfect. With the rain coming down, it could’ve turned out not so great…outdoor photos are my jam. But the rain held off during the times we needed it to, and the cloudy skies were the perfect that day. I just want to make a million albums from these photos and plaster them as canvases all over my walls. 🙂 Heidi and Chris are the sweetest people. After taking their engagement photos last year, I was so excited for the wedding. They are surrounded by such a fun group of people, and they definitely know how to have a good time! The details of the day were astounding and there was never a moment where I didn’t have SOMETHING to be photographing.
Certainly a wedding for the books. Adam and I had such a blast photographing this, and we hope you have just as much fun looking at these. Congrats again to Heidi and Chris. Thank you for allowing us to capture your best day!
Where to start with this gorgeous day?? First of all the the weather for an outdoor, late-June wedding could’ve been miserable, but it ended up being perfect. The venue was absolutely gorgeous…I had never shot here before and was so excited to. The barn, the cottage, the wildflowers, and the idyllic Kansas views made it the most perfect spot for Megan and Jonathan to seal their love.
I have known Megan for a few years and have photographed her family several different times. That made the day even better, because we were all old friends. I hadn’t met Jonathan before, and it was beautiful to see how well he loves Megan and how sweet he is with her. We started off the day getting ready in the cottage, and then had their first look in front of the barn. We’d set aside lots of time for photos, so we got right into it. The wildflowers were such an added bonus to be able to use!
It was finally time for Megan to walk down the aisle, and some of my favorite photos are ones that Adam took of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of Megan and her dad just before their big walk. As everyone else was watching the processional, Megan’s dad was busy helping Megan with her dress to make sure every detail was perfect. When she walked down the aisle, I couldn’t help but tear up a bit as I watched her mom. I can’t imagine all the feelings and memories you experience as a mom during that moment.
After their ceremony, we took a few more photos and then joined family and friends in the barn. There were cupcakes and and ice cream bar, and outdoor games. Everyone ended up outside, enjoying the beautiful weather, and congratulating the newlyweds. We had a gorgeous sunset and snuck out a couple more times for photos and I’m obsessed with those. Big thanks to Megan’s sister Ashley for helping me get the couple away for those special photos.
Congrats to Megan and Jonathan, and thank you so much for choosing me to capture your day. It was seriously perfect. I wish you all the best!!
Lexi & Bryce’s wedding day was quite the adventure! The forecasted blizzard showed it’s ugly face and we had quite the snowy and blustery day. Luckily, they had decided to get married at a church that had LOTS of windows which meant lots of natural light for us to use for all the photos. Since their wedding was just a few days before Christmas, we had the added bonus of some Christmas decor to work with. Lexi and Bryce didn’t mind the snow and cold…they were just excited to be married. They rolled with it in style and grace and they were both just glowing the entire day. Thanks for choosing me to capture this wonderful day for you. Congrats on your wedding and blessings on your marriage!
I was working out details for a new blogging method (see more about that below the photos on this post), so I hadn’t yet had a chance to blog Claire + Justin’s wedding. But this wedding, you guys…you will never meet a more genuine and in love couple. They were beyond excited to be married…nothing else mattered that day! We had a bit of a chilly November Saturday but they were totally fine with all the outside photos because they were giddy with excitement. I love getting to share weddings like this because you can totally see the relationship between them; I could’ve just posted this without any words. Thanks to Claire and Justin for choosing Adam and I to document your day. And congrats! You two will do awesome things together!
***As most of you know, I’ve been making time-saving changes lately in order to be more present with my family and free up my time to be better at my job! One of these changes is blogging…wedding blog posts will be shorter from now on; I’ll only be showing my very favorites. Check out the wedding galleries on my website, or click the WEDDING category over to the right to see more wedding photos!***
I am so in love with this wedding. First of all, Lacey and Cole and I all went to high school together, so it was a lot of fun to see them again and to catch up throughout this whole process. Secondly…um…Lacey? Flippin gorgeous. What a beauty. And lastly, their wedding was the epitome of fall. Which is my favorite…the barn where they said their vows was such a perfect backdrop on their colorful October wedding day. They had an intimate ceremony with just their family and wedding party present. Afterwards, there was dinner (On the Border!), drinks, and dancing in the loft of the barn. These two have a super sweet love story, and it was so awesome to see them come together after so many years. Congratulations to Lacey and Cole! I can’t wait to take more photos of you and your family in the years to come!
We had taken Lindsey & Bryan’s engagement photos at the same venue where their wedding was. It was a lot of fun to come back to this beautiful place to share in their wedding day. This perfect October day was full of beautiful details…from their quiet first look on a bridge in the middle of the woods, to the stunning arbor under which they said their vows, to the thoughtfully crafted reception centerpieces…so much love and time went into making this day special. There were a few minor snafus as their are with every wedding, but at the end of the day, Lindsey and Bryan vowed in front of their friends and family to love each other and their two little boys forever. We forced Bryan into a few more photos with his bride 🙂 before it was time for dinner, drinks, and dancing. And of course we can’t forget, their fun sparkler exit! That they repeated 3 times! Ha! Such a fun day. Congrats to Lindsey & Bryan, we are so glad you chose us to photograph your wedding day.
Where to start. This wedding day was unexpectedly perfect. The original plan had been for an outdoor ceremony on the river, but lots and lots of rain quickly derailed that plan. Olivia and Erik accepted that change with poise and grace, and were simply excited to be married. We started the day at Olivia’s apartment where the girls were getting ready, and made our way to the venue to put on her dress. The overcast day + the window-filled venue made for a gorgeous backdrop. We even had some time in between rain showers for outdoor photos before the ceremony. Olivia is so much fun to photograph, as she was a model in a past life. Erik was equally as much fun…the way he looked at Olivia all day left no doubt in anyone’s mind that these two were made for each other.
Adam and I shot this wedding with a more dark and moody feel than our norm – which was the couple’s preference. I cannot even tell you how much I love these images. I don’t know if YOU can tell, but to me they are so different from what I usually do, and it was a lot of fun to step out of my box and experiment a bit. The rainy day lent itself perfectly to the darker feel that Olivia desired, and made the ceremony and reception seem so cozy and comfortable. The toasts and dancing and celebrating carried on oblivious to the thunder and lightning outside the dark windows at the reception. I could go on and on, but…let’s just move on to the photos. Congrats to Liv + Erik. You two lovebirds are bound for wonderful things! Thanks for asking Adam and I to photograph + film your beautiful day!
Jenna and Jared’s September wedding was a blast to photograph. These two, along with their wedding party, were so laid back and fun. Jared had a bunch of buddies come in from Minnesota where he’s from, and this bunch was crazy…we have some stories. 🙂 After their ceremony at St. Thomas, we headed to a park and the golf course by their reception venue to do a bunch of portraits. I even got lots of time in between to photograph reception details, which isn’t always the case! The best part of the reception was hands down the “kissing game.” You know how normally at receptions, when someone clinks a glass the couple has to kiss? Well Jenna and Jared did things a little differently: couples had to come up to the head table and demonstrate how they wanted the bride and groom to kiss. Upside down? Being held horizontally by 8 of your friends? Doing a handstand? All of the above. 🙂 Congrats to Jenna and Jared on their marriage, and thanks for choosing us to document your day!
