As the younger sister of my best friend, Shelby has been like the little sister I never had. I can always count on her to tell it like it is, and to laugh at (with??) me when I’m being dumb. I love her! 🙂 I have been so excited to photograph Shelby’s wedding, even before we knew that it would be Eric she would be marrying, ha! Eric is the kindest, gentlest person…and the way he treats Shelby is so beautiful to see. I only teared up once throughout the day, but mostly just had so much fun capturing every moment from the salon to the sparkler exit. Happy marriage, you two. I wish you all the best and thank you for allowing me to photograph your most special day!
Meagan and Chad’s August wedding day was the most gorgeous upper 70s/lower 80s Kansas day. In August!?! The most perfect day to vow your love to the one you want to be with forever. These two people are so in love and were so excited to be married. Chad is a firefighter, and they incorporated that aspect of their life into much of their wedding, including driving away in a vintage firetruck. So cool! We took a bunch of fun wedding party photos after the ceremony, and then it was on to the reception where everyone was able to let loose and have a great time. Congrats to the happy couple, and thanks for trusting Adam and I to capture this special day for you!
Taylor and Jordan were married on a hot July afternoon a few weeks ago. I have known Jordan since he was in high school, and it has been really neat to get to know him better as an adult. These two are so sweet with each other, and seem so perfect together. The day was amazing…aside from the heat, we had some great venues and a gorgeous wedding party to help make my job easy. Congrats to Taylor and Jordan, we wish you all the best and are so glad you chose us to capture your day!
Jessica and Matt were married almost a month ago on a hot July afternoon. We started at the lovely Ambassador Hotel where everyone was getting ready. Jessica had all her pretty details laid out for me to photograph. I just love the lighting that the Ambassador provides for getting ready photos! After arriving over at the church, we did some photos of Jessica and her gals outside the stately Cathedral before letting them cool off in the AC. Jessica’s walk down the aisle was an emotional one for Matt which was so sweet to see. After their ceremony, we did a few family photos at the church before heading over to a nearby park for the majority of their portraits. We did an abbreviated version at the park since we were all sweating buckets. Jessica did a quick wardrobe change and we did a few photos in her reception dress with Matt in the courtyard back at the church. Then it was over to the reception hall for an amazing dinner prepared by Jessica’s mom, cake, and lots of dancing. They did a broom dance which I had never seen before and was SO much fun. Enjoy some highlights from Jessica & Matt’s big day. These two are awesome people!!
My husband Adam and I have been working on a little project, and it is finally ready! Over the past couple of months, he went out with me on some of my photo shoots to video some behind-the-scenes footage in order to make a video about my business, my philosophy, my photography. A big thank you to Jen & Ruse + kiddos, Laura & Adam + kiddos, Kristina, and Reed & Kathryn…as well as my lovely boys for allowing us to video during your sessions. We appreciate it and hopefully it’s fun for y’all to see your lovely faces in this.
Additionally, as you might be able to tell, my Adam is kinda talented at this whole video thing. He has started a little video company that we have named Adler Grey Videography (our boys’ middle names). He has decided to focus on real estate and business promotional videos, be sure to click here to check out his website and some of his awesome work!
I hope you guys enjoy!
Kati and Micah had such a gorgeous wedding back in mid-May, and it was such an honor to be a part of it. These two were so much fun to work with….they were happy and joyful and just genuinely excited to be married! We started the day at their house and a friend’s house with getting ready photos. We drove over to the venue for the girls to get in their dresses, and then Kati and Micah had their first look and we got to take some outdoor photos. I was able to grab detail shots before the ceremony and there were so many gorgeous details that Kati had put together. After the emotional ceremony, we were able to spend some time taking MORE outdoor photos which is my favorite part of the day. Kati and Micah’s friends were a lot of fun and there was no shortage of laughing. We arrived back at the venue which had been moved around a bit to accommodate the reception, and finished up the night with an awesome dinner, some thoughtful toasts, and a lot of dancing! Congrats to Kati and Micah…you two are awesome people! 🙂

Towards the beginning of the year, I had an idea to do a photo shoot that was completely for myself. I photograph other people nearly every day (which I love!), so I felt inspired to do a shoot that was for me: my ideas, my taste, my preferences. The idea of shooting to please no other person seemed wonderful. The shoot ended up transforming beyond what I originally planned into a styled wedding session complete with a bride, groom, and bridesmaid. A lot (I mean a LOT) of things went wrong along the way. There was stress and hot glue gun burns and sickness (I had no voice the day we were shooting!). There was laughing and dress shopping and dinners to discuss details. I found the most wonderful location about 2 days before, got permission from the owner, and everything was set! I got to work with some amazing people and I’m so proud of what we created. Without further ado, please enjoy this romantic styled wedding session…among the Bradford Pears.

Libby and Kevin were married on the second day of 2016, and their wedding was so amazing to be a part of. Surrounded by family and friends who were probably the most supportive bunch I’ve ever seen, they pledged in hand-written vows to love each other forever (and Kevin must remember his bride’s Pei Wei order 🙂 ). It’s not hard to see why these people are so loved. They genuinely care about people. Libby even took time while she was getting dressed to give me a hug and tell me how glad she was that I was there. If I was a crier, I would’ve cried. It almost happened anyway. 🙂
Their reception was so much fun. Everyone was dancing, laughing, having a good time…and towards the end of the night, the entire room made a circle around the couple on the dance floor and they had (what I can only imagine) was one of the coolest moments of their life – taking in the love and happiness that all their family and friends were showing for them. After awhile, the crowd gathered close in one final show of support that looked like a gigantic hug. Everyone left the room, and in the only moment of quiet that whole day, Libby and Kevin had one last dance in an empty ballroom. Beautiful.
Congrats to this awesome couple…it was an honor to document your day.
Maggie and Nate’s wedding day was sunny and frigid. I kind of forced them to go outdoors for photos and begged them to not look cold, and I’m glad! (Hopefully they are too.) 🙂 We started the day at Maggie’s parents’ house getting ready, and then the ladies hopped on an RV to ride to the church. After outdoor photos and the ceremony, we had the RV stop at a nearby farm for some fun wedding party photos. Then on to the reception, which was decked out in purples and oranges…I loved their decor! Their DJ kept the party fun by having guests dance their way through the buffet, catch glow sticks, and rock out with blow up guitars. Such a fun night in the country celebrating Maggie & Nate!
Sarah and Eric’s fall wedding day was gorgeous. We started out at the Hotel Old Town where they were both getting ready for the big day. After we headed over to the Cathedral downtown, Sarah got dressed and we began photos outside the church. It’s such a gorgeous church, and when you have an even more gorgeous bride…well, it’s a recipe for awesomeness. Their ceremony was beautiful inside the ornate sanctuary, and then we went over to a nearby park where the sun peaked out for us. Sarah and Eric + their wedding party were so sweet and helpful (not to mention fun). Add that to the priest making the ceremony pretty short, and we got to the reception ahead of schedule, which never happens! Hooray for us. We had a delicious dinner before the dance started, and all the guests had a great time. Sarah is a lawyer and I think I’ve done photos for no less than 4 of the lawyers at her firm, so it was fun to hang out with my people. 🙂 Enjoy these photos of this beautiful couple. Congrats to Sarah and Eric!
