Elsie reminded me so much of my own babies! She was pretty much the same weight and length as my oldest, and floppy like my boys were. Just something about her was so sweet and familiar! And she did so well during her session. She slept through just about everything and looked good in every color. Big bro Cooper surprised us all and was so sweet and loving for his photos with her…don’t miss those at the end. Such a wonderful session!
As you may know, I don’t photograph seniors anymore. However we had originally scheduled a family session for Celia and the rest of her family…but then they couldn’t make it so we focused our time on Celia! It was so fun getting to know her and her mom, and we had some great temps for it being the middle of February! Her dog was so funny, he kept shaking…I think I made him a bit nervous, but it was so fun to include him in Celia’s senior photos!
I haven’t completely won Claire over yet with my charm and exuberant personality (lol)…but if we keep hanging out, I’m convinced I can! Her parents tell me that she’s got a more serious personality anyway, so they were happy even though we didn’t get too many smiles out of her. We had gotten some frost the day of their February session and it made the homestead look so pretty! We grabbed a couple family photos outside to take advantage of that, and then finished up in the studio! This is the sweetest family ever, it’s been fun getting to know them throughout Claire’s first year!
We had a lot of babies in the studio during the early couple months of 2019, and I was so excited to see this little man for his 6 month session. We had done maternity and newborn photos and I’m just such a huge fan of his mom and dad, it’s always fun to see them. Asher is developing such a cute little personality and it’s so great to see these three loving on each other! Also…a session is always a success in my books if we can take baby down to just a diaper for some photos to show off that amazing baby chub!
Such a snuggly little lady! Lainey loved being held. Her momma brought some cute little things to use in her session, so we did those first and she struggled a bit with sleeping. She finally gave in, and we finished up the naked stuff before wrapping her up. Once wrapped, she literally snoozed without a peep the rest of our session! We loved playing dress-up with Lainey, she’s such a doll. I have gotten to photograph her since then, at about 3 months old but you’ll have to wait awhile to see that session…I’m so behind on blogging! Also…make sure to check out the last photo to see how she SMILED for her family photo!
I have photographed part of this family for some time now, so I was excited to meet the entire bunch out at Grandma and Grandpa’s new country home for a big family session. It was SO cold and windy on this January day, it took some convincing to get the kiddos on board. They did awesome though. We tried to be a little creative with our locations so we had some wind block, and I love the natural feel these have!
Sweet baby Kramer. She took some calming and feeds, but she finally let us pose her how we wanted…for a bit, haha. Once we wrapped her, she was good to go the rest of the time! This family was so sweet to get to know, and we loved finding out their story as the session went on. We knew a lot of people in common which was fun! At the end, Dad had a super fun idea for a color combo and everyone loved how it turned out. My assistant Jess and I were very blessed by this session!
We had a bit of a baby boom in January, so you may have noticed lots of newborn posts comin atcha! Little Preston did really well for his session. He didn’t love being on his tummy, but we got him there eventually. He started things off by pooping on my white backdrop right off the bat, haha. Newborn photographer problems! 🙂 He really fell asleep after we wrapped him up and he did great…we got everything done in under 2 hours. Such a sweet little snuggle bunny, and very handsome!
Three months is a notoriously hard age to photograph babies…they’re not the sleepy, squishy newborns anymore, but they’re not yet sitting up. However, sweet little Walt made it so fun! He and his family came to visit me back in January, and I totally love the sibling shots we got. He also flashed us his super handsome smile quite a few times. The funniest part was trying to fit him into that little baby bed in the black and white photo, he was totally not into it ha!
Maxwell’s parents talked about how sleepy he usually is and about how they have trouble keeping him awake to EAT, especially during the daytime. HOWEVER…Max decided that deep sleep was not going to happen this day. We got him in the perfect pose on the bean bag, but the second I took my hands or his pacifier away, he started wiggling out of his pose. After being swaddled + a few feedings, we finally got him asleep and did all our wrapped prop poses. At the end, we tried again for naked baby, but he said no. Mom fed him one more time before they left…and we made the last minute decision to try again…SUCCESS! I had 2 minutes of him being happy on his tummy on the beanbag and that was all I ever wanted, haha! Thank you Max!
