Mason was such a little sweetheart!! We were taking photos within 5 minutes of their arrival. For those of you unfamiliar with how these types of sessions work: usually they arrive, sometimes they eat for 10-15 minutes, then we spend another 15-30 minutes getting them to sleep, before we ever even begin posing. Once posing starts, it takes 5-10 minutes for babies to calm and settle in. But seriously…Mason was sleepy when he arrived and pretty much stayed asleep when we started posing, so I was able to start capturing his precious face right away. He was surprisingly strong…he held his head up a lot, and he refused to let us straighten his fingers most of the time. So curly fingers it was! It was also great meeting his mom and dad for the first time…we even discovered that his dad and I had lived in the same apartment complex in Manhattan, just a few years apart! Small world.
Crew turned 1 back in February but we had to reschedule his session a few times and finally got it done in March. I just love this semi truck location for photos with little boys! So much color even in the winter months and you know those little boys are loving it! It’s always so much fun seeing this family, their little guys are just the best!!
We finished out baby sister’s one year of sessions out at the homestead with a morning session just after sunrise. It was a little chilly that morning back in March so after family photos, we finished up in the studio. Big sister was hamming it up, she’s just the best. So fun to see their different personalities develop, and it was a fun year watching little sis grow!
Back in March, I photographed the gorgeous Morrow family in their beautiful home. Little sister was turning one, and since I had photographed these boys back before they even had a sister, it was fun to see the dynamic she brings to the bunch!
The last time I photographed this family, there were less brothers, and the ones who were there were a lot shorter! So fun to see them again and to take a few senior photos for the biggest brother, out here at the homestead. So crazy, we used the wheat field next to my house and as you can see in these first photos, it was just beginning to grow. They just finished harvest in July, which makes me realize just how behind on blogging I am! Enjoy these crazy brothers!
I met Holly and Bill over a year ago when I photographed their brand new premie baby girl, Aspen for her newborn session. Back in March, we got Holly’s whole family together for a big family session! It was a little chilly, but we had a lot of fun getting to know each other and snuggling up for photos! I have since had another session with Aspen + her parents that was HOT. So we’ve done both sides, haha.
We fell in love with Daxton! He was just so chill and easygoing, he even kept posing his hands just perfect for me. We started the session awake after his feeding, with family photos. Big bro wasn’t into being forced into photos, so attempts 1-8 failed, but we finally got our one shot we needed! Dad left with big siblings and we finished up with a sleepy Daxton. It was so interesting to hear the story of the journey his momma had in her pregnancies. Both heartbreaking and redeeming. Loved meeting this family!
Hi friends! It’s been awhile. I’m excited to share this maternity session with you today…I love this family! Their baby girl has since been born and we have done newborn photos, which I’ll share at a later date. But I started with Zach and Kirsten back when they were pregnant with their first baby boy, and have documented them every step of the way. It was so exciting to hear that they were having a girl after two boys and Kirsten couldn’t have been glowing more for her belly photos. We had such a fun evening and captured lots of fun candid moments for them during their last session as a family of four!
This sweet little buddy arrived at his session completely asleep, and we were able to get our beanbag poses done pretty fast! We quickly found out that he was NOT a fan of his elbows being out away from his body, he needed them tucked in tight. We got through most of our poses pretty easily, but when we tried to put him on his belly, he decided he was done and needed a meal. Momma fed him for awhile, then he got hiccups and it was all over. We finished up with some awake poses in a sweet little onesie that mom brought. He was definitely a little rockstar! I loved meeting this family, and hearing their journey to their rainbow baby! <3
Back in March, I got to meet and photograph the awesome team behind Homes by Keely! My husband has photographed and videoed several houses that Keely has sold, so I’d heard about her and it was fun to finally meet her. We started out at a GORGEOUS model home, and then finished our time downtown at some super bright and fun Wichita murals. Love the vibe we got with these!
