Sara + Aaron | Belly

Remember how I used to blog EVERY single session? I counted it up and guess how many sessions I am behind in blogging? 50? Nope, higher. 78? Nope. 125? Higher. The answer my friends is 192. ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY TWO. It makes me feel like I need to employ a person full-time to get me caught up and my enneagram 3 personality (see last post) makes me want to die from the inability to cross these blogs off my to do list.

I digress. With a lack of new content to share with you all AND with a bit more time on my hands (although homeschooling my children + the sanity-keeping breaks from that keep me a bit busier than I expected) due to the whole Coronavirus pandemic, I am going to TRY to start on my backlog of blog posts!

I figured it would be fun to start with this spring maternity session that happened pretty much exactly a year ago! If you’ve been outside at all, you’ll notice that the trees are starting to bloom like this again, which is so exciting! The little baby in that belly is now over 9 months old, and she is darling! I’ve had the privilege of photographing her every 3 months starting when she was born, so keep an eye out for her beautiful face to show up here!

Lincoln | 1 Year Old

I counted it up and while I knew I was getting farther behind with blogging, I didn’t realize HOW far. Guesses? I am 114 sessions and 13 weddings behind on blogging. AH! Breathe, breathe…

Here’s the cutest little cutiepie Lincoln! He and his family moved to Colorado part way through his first year bundle, but luckily his momma scheduled his 1 year session while they were back on a visit. Loved getting to know this family, and it was fun watching Lincoln smash that cake!

Jordyn | Newborn

Jordyn was a dream baby! She arrived asleep and never woke up. Her only hang up was that she wanted her hands balled into fists the whole time. But she was super floppy and fine with whatever! Big sister Jacey was amazing for just being newly 2 and she held her baby sister like a pro, doing everything we asked! Such a cute little family…love that I’ve been able to photograph both their babies!

Mason | Newborn

Mason was such a little sweetheart!! We were taking photos within 5 minutes of their arrival. For those of you unfamiliar with how these types of sessions work: usually they arrive, sometimes they eat for 10-15 minutes, then we spend another 15-30 minutes getting them to sleep, before we ever even begin posing. Once posing starts, it takes 5-10 minutes for babies to calm and settle in. But seriously…Mason was sleepy when he arrived and pretty much stayed asleep when we started posing, so I was able to start capturing his precious face right away. He was surprisingly strong…he held his head up a lot, and he refused to let us straighten his fingers most of the time. So curly fingers it was! It was also great meeting his mom and dad for the first time…we even discovered that his dad and I had lived in the same apartment complex in Manhattan, just a few years apart! Small world.

Crew is 1!

Crew turned 1 back in February but we had to reschedule his session a few times and finally got it done in March. I just love this semi truck location for photos with little boys! So much color even in the winter months and you know those little boys are loving it! It’s always so much fun seeing this family, their little guys are just the best!!

Daxton | Newborn

We fell in love with Daxton! He was just so chill and easygoing, he even kept posing his hands just perfect for me. We started the session awake after his feeding, with family photos. Big bro wasn’t into being forced into photos, so attempts 1-8 failed, but we finally got our one shot we needed! Dad left with big siblings and we finished up with a sleepy Daxton. It was so interesting to hear the story of the journey his momma had in her pregnancies. Both heartbreaking and redeeming. Loved meeting this family!
