Riley turned one back in March and we did a milk bath to end her studio session! This was the first one I’d ever done and it was SO cute and beyond precious. Riley was very interested in the flowers and her little toes peeking out were the best! It was an honor to capture Riley throughout her first year, and fun to see her mom and dad with her!
Things have been crazy and this blog hasn’t been getting much attention lately! But I had some time to add a post today. This was one of my coooooooolllldest sessions of the year. Tarannum and Prasad drove down from KC for their belly session, and I believe it was around 25 degrees outside. Tarannum had thermals and boots under her dress but Prasad was in short sleeves! Ha! They have since had their sweet baby boy and I love his newborn photos…those will be posted here at some point!
This is probably one my most favorite sessions to blog of all time! And possibly the longest newborn post ever. My nephew Caleb was born in January, and my mom and I flew out to Denver to meet him and stay with my brother + his family for several days in February. We had so much fun snuggling with him and hanging out with his big brother and sister. Caleb was a month old, so a little older than I usually photograph newborns, but since we were staying with them, we could kinda follow his schedule to get some of those sleeping poses. We took a more lifestyle approach to most of these and I’m in love! Be sure to see my mini-me in action, posing her teddy bear like a newborn. <3
I loved this silhouette because you can see the mountains out their bedroom window!
My niece Selah was watching everything I did intently, then we found her wrapping up her teddy bear and posing him in the box we had been using for her little bro. After awhile I let her come take some photos on my camera of her brother, and she did a great job! She would’ve taken the camera away and done her own thing if I’d let her!
And because I’m obsessed with her face, here’s Selah in her princess dress. 🙂
As you may know, I don’t photograph seniors anymore. However we had originally scheduled a family session for Celia and the rest of her family…but then they couldn’t make it so we focused our time on Celia! It was so fun getting to know her and her mom, and we had some great temps for it being the middle of February! Her dog was so funny, he kept shaking…I think I made him a bit nervous, but it was so fun to include him in Celia’s senior photos!
We had a lot of babies in the studio during the early couple months of 2019, and I was so excited to see this little man for his 6 month session. We had done maternity and newborn photos and I’m just such a huge fan of his mom and dad, it’s always fun to see them. Asher is developing such a cute little personality and it’s so great to see these three loving on each other! Also…a session is always a success in my books if we can take baby down to just a diaper for some photos to show off that amazing baby chub!
I have photographed part of this family for some time now, so I was excited to meet the entire bunch out at Grandma and Grandpa’s new country home for a big family session. It was SO cold and windy on this January day, it took some convincing to get the kiddos on board. They did awesome though. We tried to be a little creative with our locations so we had some wind block, and I love the natural feel these have!
The first time I photographed Natalie and Garrett was at their wedding. Fast forward ten years, and I have now had the honor of photographing each of their 3 baby girls as a newborn and throughout their first year! We finished up Violet’s baby bundle for her one year session at a coffee shop! So much fun to use this unique backdrop. I love all the pretty bokeh the lights created, and the colors that Natalie dressed everyone in were perfect! After the coffee shop, we stopped at my studio to do a few studio shots, including the watermelon setup for her birthday invitations. And you absolutely CANNOT miss the last series in this post…scroll down to see!
At Natalie and Garrett’s wedding in 2009, we took the first photo, on the left. Natalie asked me to re-create it at Izzy’s 1st birthday session which was also the year they celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. She remember to have me take an updated shot this time, for their 10th anniversary! So fun to see them all together.
I took Sara and Aaron’s engagement photos a few years back, so I was really excited to hear from Sara again when she contacted me to tell me she was pregnant! We did a quick Homestead Session to announce their happy news, and Sara brought lots of cute accessories. We are doing her maternity session next week, and I can’t wait to see that bump!
This little Christmas baby (click here to see his newborn photos) turned one in December, and with the rush of all things holiday, we decided to wait until January to do his photos. His parents opted for a downtown session, which I loved! Baby Baz (he will always be Baby Baz to me…it just flows so well, ha!) wasn’t too interested in standing still, so we mostly just chased him around the whole time! He’s such a happy kiddo and his big brother loves him soooooo much!
I met Kirstyn and Craig for the first time back in December at their maternity session! Even though the leaves had all fallen off the trees and it was an overcast day, we found a gorgeous spot and I LOVE how these turned out! They are super laid back and easy to get to know. Their sweet baby girl was born in January…so stay tuned for her newborn session post! She is DARLING!
