Megan + Jonathan | Married

Where to start with this gorgeous day?? First of all the the weather for an outdoor, late-June wedding could’ve been miserable, but it ended up being perfect. The venue was absolutely gorgeous…I had never shot here before and was so excited to. The barn, the cottage, the wildflowers, and the idyllic Kansas views made it the most perfect spot for Megan and Jonathan to seal their love.

I have known Megan for a few years and have photographed her family several different times. That made the day even better, because we were all old friends. I hadn’t met Jonathan before, and it was beautiful to see how well he loves Megan and how sweet he is with her. We started off the day getting ready in the cottage, and then had their first look in front of the barn. We’d set aside lots of time for photos, so we got right into it. The wildflowers were such an added bonus to be able to use!

It was finally time for Megan to walk down the aisle, and some of my favorite photos are ones that Adam took of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of Megan and her dad just before their big walk. As everyone else was watching the processional, Megan’s dad was busy helping Megan with her dress to make sure every detail was perfect. When she walked down the aisle, I couldn’t help but tear up a bit as I watched her mom. I can’t imagine all the feelings and memories you experience as a mom during that moment.

After their ceremony, we took a few more photos and then joined family and friends in the barn. There were cupcakes and and ice cream bar, and outdoor games. Everyone ended up outside, enjoying the beautiful weather, and congratulating the newlyweds. We had a gorgeous sunset and snuck out a couple more times for photos and I’m obsessed with those. Big thanks to Megan’s sister Ashley for helping me get the couple away for those special photos.

Congrats to Megan and Jonathan, and thank you so much for choosing me to capture your day. It was seriously perfect. I wish you all the best!!

Sarah & Eric {Married}

Sarah and Eric’s fall wedding day was gorgeous. We started out at the Hotel Old Town where they were both getting ready for the big day. After we headed over to the Cathedral downtown, Sarah got dressed and we began photos outside the church. It’s such a gorgeous church, and when you have an even more gorgeous bride…well, it’s a recipe for awesomeness. Their ceremony was beautiful inside the ornate sanctuary, and then we went over to a nearby park where the sun peaked out for us. Sarah and Eric + their wedding party were so sweet and helpful (not to mention fun). Add that to the priest making the ceremony pretty short, and we got to the reception ahead of schedule, which never happens! Hooray for us. We had a delicious dinner before the dance started, and all the guests had a great time. Sarah is a lawyer and I think I’ve done photos for no less than 4 of the lawyers at her firm, so it was fun to hang out with my people. 🙂 Enjoy these photos of this beautiful couple. Congrats to Sarah and Eric!

Kathryn + Reed {Married}

Kathryn and Reed are the kind of people you meet and instantly want to be BFFs with. They are so kind and genuine and happy. Kathryn teaches 5th grade with my husband, so luckily we have gotten to be friends over the past couple of years. We were so excited when we found out they (finally) got engaged last winter and even MORE excited when they asked us to shoot their wedding.

The day couldn’t have been more perfect. Awesome late-summer temps, plenty of sunshine, and one awesome bridal party made for some pretty great photo conditions. We started out getting ready at the Ambassador hotel downtown. I took Kathryn and her ladies for a few photos downtown before heading to the church. After their ceremony, we had plenty of time at a park for more photos. The reception was beautiful. Such great decor (I could’ve photographed decor for an hour) and no shortage of fun. It’s hard to put into words how happy Adam and I are for the newlyweds and how wonderful their wedding was. So on to the photos…

Mary & Michael {Married}

Mary and Michael were married on a gorgeous spring day, and their day was topped off in the perfect way…with a spring rainshower while the guests danced the night away safely inside. I was so excited for this wedding because after meeting this awesome couple at their engagement session, I just knew their wedding day would be filled with joy. And it was! Mary and Michael planned a special moment just before the ceremony to see each other for the first time, take communion, and pray together about the commitment they were about to make. Mary just couldn’t stop telling people all day how happy she was, and how excited she was to start their life together. Before their reception, we had some awesome places and awesome light to take their photos together at Botanica. I was just tickled with how pretty it all was. Congratulations Mary and Michael, your wedding day was so wonderful, just like you two!
